ACADEMIC ADVISORS ::
Top

On admission, the Registrar assigns every student a Faculty Academic Advisor to guide the student in his academic life at Lakeview. The advisor helps the student by recommending the most appropriate courses and practical projects according to his degree programme. The guidance will take into account the student's skill, aptitude, and his desire and call to a particular ministry.

The Faculty Academic Advisor must certify the courses chosen by the student every semester. The Advisor will be consulted by the Academic Dean and the Registrar on any matter of student academic discipline.
.
ACADEMIC EVALUATION ::
Top

A student's final grade in a course depends on several factors - attendance, participation in class, library-based reading assignments, practical projects, as well as tests and examinations. Grades instead of marks will be recorded in the student's official transcript. The normative grading structure used at Lakeview is as follows:

A+ (90-100)
A (80-89)
B (70-79)
C (60-69)
D (50-59)
Fail (Below 50)

The final semester grade secured for a course is weighted as follows:

Attendance and classroom participation 15%
Semester assignments and projects 15%
Semester tests 10%
Mid-Term examination 20%
Final examination 40%

In addition, the student's Christian character, conduct, and his devotion to ministry will be integrated with his academic credit. If a student demonstrates indifference towards any of these factors – academic, spiritual, or ministerial – he is subject to firm discipline, and in extreme cases, even to dismissal.
.
FULL-TIME FACULTY ::
Top

Students of Lakeview Bible College & Seminary are privileged to enjoy the instruction of a well-qualified and deeply committed team of teachers. The strength of our faculty comes from the fact that they are not only academically qualified, but also because they are all deeply involved in practical ministry.

Faculty responsibilities go beyond the academic. All faculty members are “parents” of student families and are actively committed to mentoring students both in their walk with God as well as in their service to the Kingdom. In this way, teaching becomes a transfer of life – not the discharge of information.
.
ADJUNCT FACULTY ::
Top

Lakeview Seminary enjoys the benefit of several adjunct professors who complement our own regular faculty. Every year, at least six (five from outside India) highly-qualified experts in the fields of New Testament, Theology, Christian Education, Christian Counselling and Church Leadership & Management conduct seminar courses for Masters' level students.
These servants of Christ have become an integral part of the Lakeview community due to their frequent visits; and strong bonds of fellowship between them and us have developed over the years.
.
ENGLISH ::
Top

Special English classes are offered to help students who are weak in the language to gain the skills necessary to benefit from lectures, discussions and library time. Two basic English courses (ECB11 and ECB21) are mandatory for all Bachelor-level students. This will enable students to express themselves verbally and in writing. Communicative English (ECM11), available for Master of Divinity students is an optional course.
.
SUPPLEMENTARY EXAMINATION/ASSIGNMENT ::
Top

Students who fail a semester course will be assigned a supplementary examination, special assignment or project according to the discretion of the professor. Students who do not write the final semester examination will be only given a supplementary examination. The cost of writing the supplementary examination is Rs. 100 per course.

The supplementary examination must be written during the semester following the failure. If a student fails in the final semester of his degree programme, he will not be allowed to graduate that year; graduation will be permitted only on completion of the supplementary examination or additional work prescribed by the concerned professor.
